I've been wondering a lot and misunderstood a few of the skills of the character creation application. Then I decided to make a guide what they mean, this is a work in progress (WIP)
General Knowledge How well you are at gathering information.
Forbidden Lore This is the dark arts, necromancy, pleasing the chaos gods and doing rituals, all that. Essentially the same as Arcana Knowledge
History How well your character is knowledgeable in History, essentially this is if you want to use the lore you can read on the forums for IC situations.
Faith Please don't mix this with Forbidden Lore. This is how faith knowledgeable you are, I think.
Literacy Determines your ability to how well you can read. You need least one star to be able to read.
Acrobatics Climbing, scaling walls and other acrobatic stuff.
Athletics Atheletics is the ability to run and move- it's good for charging/retreating. It's also good for some situations in dungeons that require movement speed.
Deception How well you sneak, fool people (lying) and other decieving things. (thanks goatmachine)
Prospecting Mining.
Skinning Leather crafting and skinning.
Rune-crafting Runes and enchanting.
Herbalism Allows you to forage herbs, recognize and brew potions
Black Smithing Crafting things out of metal, forging and such things.

Tag-skills are susposed to be utilized in a way where you ask a game-master in an event/dungeon if you can utilize such skill for a situation. For example, History can be usefull when it comes to knowing certain legends within' a dungeon which in turn can lead you to finding secrets.
This means in short; you should interact with your environment reasonably and attempt to proc a response from the GM in charge of said event/dungeon as not everyone has the same skills.
