Scout Mission 1

**You find yourself in great difficulty scaling the wall.

**You'll need another spot to observe the camp.

**Katherine Mellinstone takes note of the size of the tree, looking for any climbable branches that will hold her weight, consistently checking her surroundings for any intruders.

**It's a Oak tree, climbable and stirdy - perhaps easier then a wall too.

**Katherine Mellinstone places a foot onto a low, thick branch, both her arms grappling the trunk of the tree for balance, she'd slowly scale up the tree, taking care not to step on any delicate branches that would cause her both to fall and make noise.

**Eventually, you'll reach the top.

**As she'd reach the top she'd look over the fence to see if her view of the camp is adequate.

**Katherine would observe for a minute in total, she has no time to count but see's "Alot" of beastmen of all different shapes and sizes. Many Beastmen appear to be dancing though you dont understand what it means. Finally you get spotted, a spear is thrown at you and misses you just barely.

**Katherine Mellinstone ducks her head down as the spear barely misses her, she'd quickly but carefully begin her decent from the tree.

**She decends, you cut your leg on the way down causing a little gash.

**Katherine Mellinstone decends from the tree, the cut on her leg almost non existent as she quickly regains her footing, making off into the direction she came from.

**Katherine begins to jolt it, though spears seem to repeatedly find their way near her as they're tossed, perhaps persued.

Count Durna Eddicus has rolled 79.

**Katherine manages to cross the bridge luckily.

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "So my father taught me the two most important things to know when searching for a specific ore: know your rock formations and check for clues in underground rivers. If there's something you want floating in the water, go upstream."

**Sir Daniel Smith he'd nod and listen quietly, taking note of what Leo says.

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "Iron is made in this thing called sedimentary rock which which will appear to have layers of different colors. It'll look pretty weathered too."

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "So uh, with that in mind, let's go search for some. I'll show you all what it looks like if there's any to be found."

Sir Daniel Smith says "Very well."

**Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens motioned them all along as he began to walk through the cave system.

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "VVatch yer' step."

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "Aha."


**Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens stepped up to the large chunk of rock that was sticking out of the wall. He gave it a few pats and wiped his hand over it, "This 'ere is what we're looking for." He motioned a finger up and down, "See those thin layers? That means there's a chance we'll find some ore in here. It ain't always gonna have a deposit of iron around it, but there's a good chance it will. Just gotta pick away a bit until you find an ore vein."

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "Any questions?"

Sir Daniel Smith says "I think I understand so."

Sir Daniel Smith says "Now, you've got the energy to mine, today?"

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "The same technique goes for coal, really. Look at the water, search for black
rocks.. They like to form in swamp areas mainly, but some has been found down 'ere. And yeah, I can mine."

Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens says "I'll go ahead and get to picking if you all want to watch."

**Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens reached behind him and retrieved his pickaxe.

**Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens lifts his iron tool over his shoulder and swung the end down towards the rock formation, gradually beginning to pick away at it. Slowly but surely, the man began to dispatch a few large chunks of the rock as he hastely began to mine through it all. He grew tired and begun to sweat just a few minutes in. "C'mon.. Nngh.. C'mon.. Gimme some iron. Just a lil' bit.."

**Squire Leonardo 'Leo' Dickens found something, and whatever it was, he stuffed into a large sack. He got some rope from his belt and tied the end of it. "Aaand.. That's how it's done."

Vandel Drek says "Pass me one of those logs so we may begin, Katherine. "

**Katherine Mellinstone unclips her tatty cloak from around her neck, placing it over to the side, she'd toss one of the logs into the air in his direction.

**Vandel Drek lifts up his arms to catch the log, he weighs it in his hands and enters a comfortable position of holding it, entering a defensive stance holding it one-handed over his left shoulder, his opposite arm positioned on his back.

**Katherine Mellinstone would mimic the same action, placing the log into her right hand, she'd twist her wrists a few times before entering a defence stance, waving the log in small circles whilst pointing it towards him. "Are you ready?"

**Sir Daniel Smith wanders over towards his estate, walking around to view the two peasants sparring as he'd fold his arms in observation.

**Vandel Drek takes a step forward with his left foot, evenly distributing his weight positioning himself with his right foot behind him as he closes the line between him and Katherine and brings his sword forward infront of him in a guard position.

Sir Daniel Smith says "Spar."

**Katherine Mellinstone steps to the right, crossing her left foot over the right, she'd keep the stick facing in a forward fashion, in a sudden motion, she'd leap forward ever so slightly, swinging the stick towards the left side of his torso whilst keeping her step firm but balanced.

**Vandel Drek pulls back his arms and bring his weapon to make contact with hers as it comes about his left side, in retaliation to this movement he would pull up his previously positioned right foot and extend it forward to kick Katherine back to sway her stance.

**Katherine Mellinstone positions her left foot behind her right as the two logs smash together, Vandel's foot would clip the top of her thigh, pushing her leg slightly off of balance, in reaction to this, Kath' would skip back, regaining the lost balance, the log still in contact with his, as she regains her balance she'd strike again, this time on the opposite side.

**Vandel Drek brings down his leg after the kick which places his position alittle closer to Katherine, he keeps his weapon trailed on hers to bring it to contact with hers again, twisting his wrist as he does so and push her stick far to his left past his neck and enter a thrusting position.

**Katherine Mellinstone pushes against the opposing stick as Vandel pushes it in the opposite direction, the two sticks would sway left and right as the two forces push against each other. Katherine would prance backwards, bringing her stick back immediately into a defensive position, a foot is placed behind her.

**Vandel Drek takes a step forward to remain in close proximity with Katherine and bring his weapon forward and down torward's her left shoulder, leaning to his right as he does so in an effort to evade a counter.

**Katherine Mellinstone swings her weapon upwards in an attempt to counter the attack, as the sticks would collide her right boot would thrust forward, aimed at the lower torso, if it was to collide she'd try to push his weapon in the opposite direction. (To his left)

**Vandel Drek stumbles backwards as he is kicked back in the groin and his weapon is is parried away, increasing his distance from her and he tries to bring his sword back infront of him to enter another defensive stance, "Hmph, nice kick there."

**Katherine Mellinstone nodded, she'd re-enter an attack based stance, side-stepping to the right a few times, she'd slowly gain some distance towards him, her weapon swiping to the right towards his left arm.

**Vandel Drek leans back off center and brings down his stick on his opponents in one decisive motion and maintain steady pressure on her weapon and reorient the tip of his sword to face her body and brings himself forward for a thrust to her center of mass.

**Katherine Mellinstone watches the twos weapons collide in the center, she'd side-step to the right again, holding the force of Vandel's strike, as he goes to thrust the weapon towards her she'd jolt her upper body back and to the left, his stick would scrape along her chest and her upper arm before trailing off to the side, as it does she'd reposition herself and the weapon. "Hmph."

**Vandel Drek steps back and repositions himself as well, "Was that fitting for you?" he asks as he enters a defensive posture once more now holding the stick with both hands.

Katherine Mellinstone says "That hurt slightly."

**Katherine Mellinstone chuckled, instantly throwing herself back into the fight, her stick swinging in a swiped motion towards his right wrist, she moves around a lot more this time round, keeping on her toes.

**Vandel Drek leans back and off centre again in an attempt to simply dodge the swipe against his wrist, his focus concentrated on her movements as he takes a different approach to the fight, he does not make any effort to bring his sword down or anything.

**Katherine Mellinstone's strike would indeed pass his wrist, she'd quickly bring her weapon back up however, taking quick steps in towards him with mutiple fast, side-orientated swings.

**Vandel Drek would attempt at a sort of dodge again, not expecting a fury of attacks as one swipes his side as he scurries back, "Hmph, didn't think you'd be quick on the draw with that. Weight of a sword is different than with a log y'know."

**Katherine Mellinstone would allow him to scurry back, repositioning herself into a defensive stance. "Yes very different, there is almost no balance, simply a striking tool." she says.
