Move this if it's not in the right lore board!
What are Orcs?
Orcs are a race of aggressive, war-loving beasts. They're very humanoid in appearance except almost all of them have large, musclebound frames and their skin tones range from a sickly gray to a dark green color. Most attribute this to where the orc's ancestors had come from. Those with paler, gray skin usually were seen mostly in mountainous, colder climates while the ones bearing greener skin came from more temperate forested areas and sunnier climates. However, much of the orc population had migrated around the realm, so it's entirely possible to find grayer orcs in warmer areas and vice versa. Their mouths, unlike humans and elves have small tusks sticking out for breaking bone and chewing on tougher meat. They get most of their technology from raided settlements and cities, rarely having equipment made by themselves. But when they do have orc made gear it's usually crude, but very sturdy and heavy. While not as aggressive as beastmen and able to interact with other races nonviolently, in their natural element they're a part of large warbands that survive by pillaging anything they come across, and occasionally fighting with other clans.
History & Culture:
Orcs have been around for ages, possibly being as old as the elves. They lived through most of their existence, and many still do live as small tribes and clans. History of the realm had not been affected by them all too much as they never were organized enough to raze the largest cities of the Human and Elven empires. Their only legacy being the path of widespread destruction caused by them across the lands. While they orcs are one of the oldest possible races, they don't have the cities to show for it. They mostly live in small tribes or clans and take residence in remote, pillaged settlements. Occasionally they branch out to create expansive settlements that are somewhat nomadic, having to travel after they've raided all the settlements in the area. Due to all of this orcs are generally not accepted into any other societies and are forced to remain with their tribe or live on their own. As for religion, the Orcs have followed primitive, pagan beliefs where they entrust Shaman to be the ones knowledgeable about their beliefs.
Breeds:
Orcs: Pure blood, normal orcs created by generations of breeding orcs with orcs. Stronger than all other breeds except ogres but smarter and quicker.
Ogres/Trolls: A loosely related species to the orcs, the largest and most powerful, but slow and dimwitted. Usually used as warbeasts by large orc tribes who keep them for specifically that role.
Goblins: another loosely related species. They're dumber than Orcs but still more sentient than Ogres. They only reach up to at most 4'8 feet tall and are kept by the orcs as slaves or cannon fodder and pack mules to use in raids.
Hobgoblin: A mix breed between a goblin and an orc. Roughly the size of normal humans and about the same strength. Only somewhat dumber. They have a slightly higher rank in orc society but mainly stay in the same roles.
Half Orcs: A Crossbreed between an Orc and a Human. They're slightly more trustworthy by other races and generally accepted into Orc societies. But in the more traditional clans they're completely exiled by their tribe.
Will work on it more, overtime.
