Before the 36th Dragon-Reckoning of the Second Age
"Some members of our family do not belive the history of our tree that is below the first root of Diana Rogier, first Noble of the Rogier. From the great beyond it is told. Even past the kingdom of the elves. Savage, blood drinking...skull collecting, raiding people. No, not people...Giant monsters, who yet fight for the sake of battle. Fighting, fighting...fighting, this is what our blood curses us when born. Our orange eyes, our height and the body. Every member has these traits, it is no denial. We are warriors from the depth of our soul, from the far north." - Knight Maria Rogier - 4th Dragon-Reckoning of the Third Age
The forgotten Truth
"The Eternal Flame. Branded as Heretics now, from the betrayel of one man who has cursed Humanity into such dark ages. How foul and evil his existance mere is...From the ignorance of it's creator to have allowed his so called 'son' to claim such power when grown in age. A mistake in nobility, in holy...That should never happen again." - Hedge Knight Josef Rogier - 2nd Dragon Reckoning of the Third Age
In death our duty ends
"Despite the hatred and disagreement in this family. We all are born to preforme our duty in service of the light. Like our ancient mother...The first member of our family roots to go and leave the savage land. Diana Rogier, the first Noble of the Rogiers...Our first ancestor to grant us nobility in service of the light in the land of Surna, for the sake of Humanity. She had to witness aswell the gruesome tragedy that has happen close to the end of the second age. But we are all not born alike our ancestors, brave...strong...determined...self sacrafical. But we can not deny that our roots grow back to the Eternal Flame. A secret to never spread outside of this family, for this will brand us as heretics. All of us, every single one of our blood...Even those that still remain to live as complete ashen ones out in the cold dark north...We will never meet perhaps. For this safety, we are in service of the church. The Light." - Hedge Knight Marsell Rogier - 11th Dragon Reckoning of the Third Age
Family Members: 673 Counted across the known Kingdom
Unknown number of those members who left by their own to live by themself
Unknown number living outside the Kingdom
Family Traits:
A recongisable trait of every family member. Tall with atleast the height of 6'1 Feet and 6'8 at most. Orange eyes, every member has it there is no denial. Strong build bodies, atleast those that train it. Those that are lazy, have this trait to be their fatal disadvantage that they grow fat. It is hard for a family member to be a calm, peacefull person. For they are quick to anger, the lust of fighting and blood spilling grows the longer the fight is. It is a curse some say, a blessing those only wish to fight however.
The Nobility of the Rogier:
Family members of the family Rogier are most commonly known to be hedge knights, adventurers or a full knight. It is unusual to find a member of this family, to be someone who does not fight or has a job with rather boring duty. Their thanks to nobility is granted by their first mother who has came to Surna as a half breed of a human and a Vrykul, it is honour and tradition that a member follows the path of the light. To fight and die for it, in the name of the Light. This is usualy teached to the sons and daughters. The women born in this tree are to be recognised as warriors too if they wish to be. The family has fought with the Kingdom of Karrack as Knights. Many have died in the 200 year long war, but the war has found it'self an end at the 10th Dragon Reckoning in the Third Age. The war was over, the family Rogier finaly given a good amount of time to expand. The member number rised quickly in the years given where peace was granted. For the 200 year long service, the Rogier are known to be the Knights of Karrack. Those atleast born in the land of Karrack, serve for Duke Durna.
A recognisable symbol seen in the land of Karrack. For those living there, a symbol of hope and loyality. For the enemy Kingdoms, a symbol of unbreakable walls and sinister battle. It is the symbol of the Rogier family, carrying it proudly during the 200 war. In the 5th Dragon Reckoning of the Third Age, Karrack stood by it's knees with the enemies infront of their walls. But, the knights that had the blood of Rogier cursing through their veins. Allowed not a single enemy soldier to bypass them to enter the city. They defended this city, with great causalties. Yet, fended off the attackers and saved the downfall of Karrack. Their hands coated in crimson blood of the enemies and their fallen brothers and sisters. The shields marked with arrows and scars of other weapons. The fallen Knights on this battle during the war. Shall never be forgotten, as the Defenders of Karrack.
Magic:
Magic is a dangerouse art, a art that only those that truely pledge their life of learning it can control. It is no dishonour, no questionable decision for a member of the family to wish to learn Magic. Usualy the members are encouraged of becoming a Paladin for those that do wish to learn magic. Like their first mother Diana Rogier, a Paladin of the light.
Noteable Heros/Legends Family Members
Diana Rogier - 36th Dragon Reckoning of the Second Age
Our noble roots grew from her, she is the seed planted in the soil that allowed us to grow with her noble blood in this world. A tree of warriors, like herself. In us, the blood of the unknown monsters from the far north. We do not know her history, but we do all know her might is what created us. Shall we never fail in our Ever Mother's eyes!
Pia Rogier - 39th Dragon Reckoning of the Second Age
Pia, the first born of Diana...and only child. Diana was too focused of her duty as paladin. Upon her retirment, she could only bare one child and it was Pia. This was no tragedy however, for she ensured that our noble name will not be forgotten. A fighter like her mother, she picked the best idol warrior as a man. With him, they beared many children who rised up and grew up as fighters. She was the spring, that allowed our family to grow so rapidly. Because a war...was soon coming.
