Gift of the Old Oak:
Deep in the north-western forests of Sevilidan stands a white oak tree older than word and written record. Some Druidic Circles say this tree is as old as the forests themselves, standing tall in watch and guardianship of the creatures and life of the forests and wilds. The Old Oak was said to be the spirit and will of the forest made true, Druids would come before the tree seeking the ancient wisdom of the Old Oak, seeking meditation and true understanding of the world around them. During dark times when sickness claimed the lands and the Druids failed to heal the children with their arts would bring their children and lay them before the tree. The Druids would ask the Old Oak for help to heal their child, The Old Oak could not heal their body for it was too ill; A creature of the forest, saddened by the tears of the Druids offered their being to save the child.
The creature laid beside the child and the Old Oak with it's ancient wisdom and knowledge flowed the being of the child though his ancient roots and into that of the creature. The child had lost what they were, their memories, their being but had been given a chance to live a new life, a new start. When the child awoke the Druids were gone, the child had gained a new connection to the world around and could understand the forests and wilds like nothing before. The child could assume the form of the creature that saved their life and the form they were like once before. They had been given a chance a live, to see the wonders of the world.
Ability Information:
Shifted Form: Those gifted this by the Old Oak have the ability to transform between their original form and that of the creature (This can be any non-flying animal within reason), this form has no physical or aesthetic differences from that would normally be seen. The regular or "human" form drifts to physical traits of the creature, meaning if their form is that of a bear they will be bulkier and more built than that of someone with the form of a fox. This does not cause their unshifted form to take on any aesthetic traits such as fur, ears or eyes.
Insight of the Old Oak: The art of Herbalism and other Duridic practices come more easily and more naturally to those with this gift, while they still must learn these skills they will have a far easier time at it than those without this gifted insight.
Natural Connection: Those with this gift have a natural connection to the forest and wilds around them and the creatures inside. Animals that would commonly attack such as bears or wolves will not in their presence and will be calm unless provoked, threatened or scared by an outside force. This is ineffective on other gifted or those tainted by darker magics.
Ashen Immune: Due to the nature of how they were healed and saved they have a natural immunity to the ashen curse and are not effected by it.
Weaknesses:
Those with this gift are just as vulnerable or resistant to anything they would otherwise be unless effected by something other than the Gift of the Old Oak.
Stat Modifiers:
This does not make any changes to character statistics, only skills as mentioned above.
