What I've noticed, especially on the current map, is the lack of things to do other than passive RP and talking with fellows characters, and while both can be enjoyable you can only do so much of it before getting tired and bored of it.
I'm suggesting a system here, which I've witnessed on some other FantasyRP setting which worked out pretty well. I don't remember the fantasy server nor the exact rules of it, so I'm just going to make it as enjoyable as possible.
1. Quest board
An IC board on which players/NPCs/Admins could post any notices that they'd require that would involve quests. Basically a forum thread.
You could post there opportunities that players could evolve around, for example:
Hiring Adventurers!
A band of illegal orc imigrants have been harassing our farm lately! We're willing to pay anyone who can fend off these foul creatures from our lands. More details at the Honburry Farm, ask for James.
A simple, yet effective way to keep people interested and busy with cool things. Obviously, non-combat or various-development encounters could be there, as well.
2. Gamemastering
When player(s) will decide to take on a quest but no admins would be on or they'd be busy with their own shit, the participants could ask for any player on the server/the creator of the quest to GM their quest. While they would play IC'ly, the GM would throw various things at them to develop the situation through /its, in logical way, of course, and build temporary structures for the sake of the quest.
When the quest would be finished, the Gamemaster or anyone else would post on an according thread what has happened with proof so admins can then acknowledge it and give out rewards if they deem it worthy.
This way I think that there'd be something to do other than waiting for admins to hop on, as well as it'd ease the staff job a little.
Obviously, the Gamemaster should stay neutral and not bend anything towards the players to ease their job. It should be a fun experience, but not biased and unfair.
Feedback appreciated.
