Because you're gaining 20 character points in little under a week, something that would take much more time to obtain, along with armor that is some of the best on the entire server.
The events themselves are difficult and dangerous to warrant such explosive growth, and if the characters do indeed outpace the rest of the server, they cannot be played until the server catches up to them. Where does the issue lie then? In the semantics of gaining attributes?
Also, combat events happen when they happen. Just go onto Sevi and ask to do minor reward events to help speed shit up... The community has more power than just sitting back and waiting for Mad to do everything on Sevidilan
Not gonna lie, it just seems like a bunch of exclusive RP shit to me. Because that all means you can basically do 2 weeks of IoM, boost your stats to insane amounts, stop for a while, make a fresh char so you can play normal Sevidilan for until they catch up and then just bring them back.
Boom, 2 weeks of HUGE boosts, you don't lose out on main story quests and by the time it's sorted, they have:
1 EXTREMELY powerful character 1 Moderately powerful character
In the time it takes everyone else to catch up.
This whole "OoOOOoOo they could never retuuuuurn!" Is a crock O' shite, because as I said, they can just play for 2 weeks on IoM, and then wait for a month while playing a diff character and then slam them back into the story. Boom: Little risk to huge reward, now you got a group of powerful characters who can just steamroll anyone they disagree with. The "We dislike Dacius" crew could easily turn into the "Murder anyone who likes Dacius" crew, at the most extreme point.
Honestly? It shouldn't have ever been a thing. Nobody is forcing anyone to stick around with the Dacius crew, while they're all off elsewhere, you could just request events to your own side of a story and just not hang around with them. The only thing that you MUST do in tune with the Dacius Crew is the map switches. Even then, there are PLENTY of areas to camp out and such on other maps. You want to go against Dacius? That's your choice, be prepared for a harder time, more stress and the repurcussions that come with it... And prepared to get criticised when you try power levelling yourself faster than a 1-50 grind on Black Desert Online and use the excuse of "But muh dun likey Dacius".
Saying "It's the end of their story" and then follow it with what very much seems like "Na we just wanna get powerful easier so we can jump back in and steamroll people". Because lets be honest, anybody in the IoM who has a vague interest in Sevilidan wouldn't doom their character so stupidly unless they never had the intent of returning, in which case, it makes more sense to create a new character and start over rather than playing a separate server.
Not gonna lie, constantly throwing insults around just makes ya look like a dick.
They can't just jump back in if they're ahead of the rest of the server, which has been stated numerous times. That does not mean that they merely have to wait, they also have to wait for regular characters to catch up to them. Which in itself, means they can't just "steamroll" everyone.
Has no valid point and so insults my comprehension, nice job.
I adressed the "No coming back" bit in that post if you read it.
It is clear you didn't.
And yes, they can just wait for the characters to catch up to them. All you gotta do is think.
Also, if you are going to adress my argument, adress my FULL argument, rather than picking one point out.
Considering their gear is likely going to be powerful, it is arguable that staff could simply let them back in once their stats were just a few points higher then a semi powerful regular character.

Okay let me show you your arguments. 1. They can come back more powerful and be better than everyone else (only possible based on equipment, still seems unlikely.) 2. It's exclusive RP. (pretty sure other people can also do it, but nobody has opted to. 3. They could just stay somewhere else on the map instead of leaving entirely. (An event happens that they want to partake in that involves Dacius, so now they have to work alongside him and his allies. You can't avoid another group very well in gmod RP.) 4. People who join IoM don't have an interest in the server. (I have an interest in IoM and the server, but I don't particularly have the time to do both. I also don't really think it matters whether they care or not.)
Even if some of your points are true, only #1 is a possibly concern to the enjoyment of the rest of the players. That is why I specifically targeted that one, because it's the only one that actually fucking matters. These players are not taking away anything from the people playing on the main server, as they may never even actually interact if they get to the point that they are stronger than everyone else. You definitely like to pick up on people insulting you, and then come right back at them with an incredibly condescending tone. I shouldn't have to type ten paragraphs to get the point across that they cannot steamroll the other players because of how the system is designed.
Firstly, I'll start off by apologising for the condescending tone, it wasn't really intended.
Secondly, I still fail to understand why you would just dump a character in the IoM with the knowledge that they're likely not going to be playable again, and then just have a whole different thing going on over there rather than playing the normal server. If anything it's separate server events which cause divides in Serious RP communities, take a look at Fractured Ethos Cyberpunk 2077.
Thirdly, steamrolling IS possible, for example when Madcombat drew the players in the IoM out of the IoM yesterday, he said "Ahh they don't seem too OP to not come back." - Yet look at their stats, they're now higher than MOST of the server. They can beat MOST of the community now in 1 on 1, unless their chars can't RP fight for shit
Fourthly, event participation is voluntary. Your character does not have to sit there and fight alongside Dacius. Nobody is going to TP you there and force you to fight, if anything, if you really wanted to, you could utilise the chaos of battle to kill/attack Dacius and his crew.

Fractured Ethos had a lot of problems, but a fractured playerbase was not the sole cause of its death.
If Madcombat judged the players to not be too OP to bring back, and they were too OP to bring back, I don't think that's a problem with the system, that's a problem with judgement.
Event participation is voluntary, but not going to an event that exists might just be choosing boredom instead.
Chancer, you can literally make your own storyline if you want to. You can go to the events page and request an event say every few days or week or so, bearing in mind you have to advance at the same stage as everyone else. Being bored, if anything, is a personal thing, and YOU could do something about it! I myself live in a UK timezone, and as such I cannot attend 99% of events, and I hardly know the main story as a result, but I have requested events and locked myself in a smaller story, one with the druids and Eithne. If we wanted to, we could just shut ourselves off and do our own stuff.
Fractured Ethos' broken playerbase and admin issues was what started its downfall, as it does with a lot of servers.

Seems like cereal decided to make his own storyline and got demoted for it.
