Hideo

Hideo has been lumbering many hardwoods, some expensive, but mostly oak. Felling a tree or two a day, and getting about twenty square timbers from each said tree if felled.
A square timber is just a 2x6 plank stacked in pairs of three.
Hideo hauls these timbers back in a wagon by himself. Usually in one go.

Hideo lugged around three hundred pounds of timber to the church. He also struck a bartering deal with the priest.

**Hideo picked up the branch and pulled out his axe. He raised it above his head and slammed it down, cutting the branch to rough size.
**Hideo pulled the axehead off of the handle. He began to take a knee and supported the branch- carving it out until he reached his desired shape.
**Hideo stood up and pulled out his pitchfork.
says "Who.. you, other than tree hurter?"
Hideo says "I labour for the city. I contribute to society with my two hands."
Hideo says "Right now, I am making bows for the priest."
Hideo says "I do not trust you, or what you stand for. Be gone with you, madam."
says "...what if no begone?"
Hideo says "Your answer is clear."
**Hideo tilted his rice hat down.
Hideo says "Líkāi, huò sǐwáng."
says "Hmpfh, weird speaky.. no interesting."
**Hideo picked up the giant branches with his arms and walked off to a different location.

**Hideo took a seat again and began to work on the bow. He carved it out until he reached his desired shape and began to sand it down with a slightly fine, but rough grained rock.
says "Oh, Hideo"
**Hideo began to work on winding a simple string with flax- until he looked up and saw a familiar face.
**Hideo tilted his rice hat down to avoid getting blinded by the sun. "Hail," he said.
Felzu says "I came across a dungeon thats been blocked off by some wood. Would you like to check it out with me, perhaps?"
Hideo says "Perhaps. But I've to finish this bow."

Felzu says "Understandable. I need some arrows meself too."
**Hideo stretched the fiber out and continued to wind it- and tied down knots at each ends to get it to keep its shape.
Hideo says "I can get you straight sticks for arrows."
Hideo says "But you'll need a fletcher."
Hideo says "I know very little of flint-napping as well."
Felzu says "I see."
**Hideo pulled up the bow and saw it was taking shape. He then continued to sand it down with the rough stone- and reached around his back and pulled out a flask full of oak sap resin.
**Hideo took his axe head and cut knocks into the top and bottom end of the bow and began to stretch the string down. When everything was tied down and set in place, he used the axehead to cut a grooved arrow rest into the side of the bow.
**Hideo took his gloves off, and began to use his hands to treat the bow in sap resin to hopefully make it last longer from weathering.

Essentially, his attempt at a decently crafted oak longbow. Treated in resin and used a simple flax string.

Logs are way too long- but at the time I made the first bow, I made a second one as well. Need approval.

Hideo made a pair of wood crude vambraces, tied down onto the wearer with flax string. He also set up a breast plate, firmly tied together with flax- and set up on a flax string harness.

Hideo spent the rest of his labouring hours working on a set of Ashigaru oak armor. It protects a lot of area with wide pieces of wood, but falls short due to there being many visible gaps in the armor set.
There was a lot of logs so posting them will probably make it tedious. See me in game for a reference.

Pauldrons, vambraces, back plate, waist plates, and thigh plates. (made from oak)

Straw hat rebuilt with thin oak pieces and sanded fibers glued with pine resin and held together with string as well. The helmet itself stands far out from the wearer's head, hopefully offering further shoulder protection and designed to atleast stop a single arrow or overhead sword strike before becoming ineffective at place of damage.
